Autumn 2026 workshop

Join us for our autumn 2026 workshop at Kings Langley Community Centre, Hertfordshire
We are pleased to welcome David Queen to lead our workshop and Barbara Manning as musician.
David Queen has been dancing since age 5. Qualifying as a Scottish country dance teacher in 1993, he currently teaches at Ribble Valley RSCDS, workshops around the UK and also RSCDS Summer and Winter Schools, New Zealand Summer School, TAC, Spring Fling and diverse locations including Japan, Russia, USA, Canada, and across Europe. Barbara is a classically trained musician on both piano and violin and then, as a keen Scottish country dancer, for 35 years has been playing both solo and with various bands around the UK and also USA, Russia, Ukraine, France, Germany, Luxembourg and Switzerland and also featured on recordings with McBain’s Band on Radio Scotland’s Take the Floor.

An appreciation of the music we use for teaching and why certain rhythms work better for various steps and dances – this will be a participation class
pm: Being inclusive in our teaching
How can we be more inclusive in our teaching? What can we learn from “reasonable adjustments” for different disabilities, forms of neurodivergence and other limitations – this will be a mix of discussion and participation.
NB The morning session starts 30 mins earlier than usual in order to accommodate the trialling of the shortlisted serTA 20th anniversary dances
