An appreciation of the music we use for teaching and why certain rhythms work better for various steps and dances – this will be a participation class

pm:  Being inclusive in our teaching

How can we be more inclusive in our teaching? What can we learn from “reasonable adjustments” for different disabilities, forms of neurodivergence and other limitations  – this will be a mix of discussion and participation.

NB The morning session starts 30 mins earlier than usual in order to accommodate the trialling of the shortlisted serTA 20th anniversary dances

12:30 - 13:15  Trialling the shortlisted serTA 20th anniversary dances

13.15 - 14.00  Lunch (bring your own)

14.00 - 16.00 Workshop 

16.00 – 16.15 Tea & cake

16.15 – 16.45 General Discussion

Please bring a picnic lunch.   Tea, coffee, squash will be provided.

Volunteers to help serve tea/coffee welcome. Home-made cake donations highly acceptable!

Car:  very easy access from M25 J20.  NB new car parking information.  The car park adjacent to the hall now has a maximum 4 hour stay (free, but register at the ticket machine).  If attending for the full day  we need to find alternative parking or move at the break.

Rail:  Nearest station is Kings Langley (I mile) which has direct trains from Euston and Milton Keynes.  Taxis can be scarce at this station so either book ahead, or lifts may be available, or 15-20 min (warm-up) walk.
